Saro has acted for insurance companies since being called to the bar in 2013. He has extensive experience in the defence and resolution of personal injury actions, accident benefits claims, property claims, and disputes between insurers. Saro has both trial and appellate experience, and has appeared as counsel at every level of court in Ontario, as well as at the Financial Services Commission (FSCO) and the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT). Prior to joining Matthews Abogado LLP, Saro articled at a large full-service law firm in Toronto. He received his degrees in common law (LL. B.) and civil law (B. C. L.) from McGill University’s bilingual program in 2011. While in law school, Saro was a member of McGill’s Laskin moot team, which won national awards for “Top Factum” and “Overall Champions”. Saro was also an avid competitive debater, earning international titles of World's Quarter Finalist (2011) and North American Finalist and top Canadian team (2010 & 2009).
Saro received his B.A. in 2008 with Great Distinction from McGill University, where he majored in Linguistics and English Literature. Saro speaks English, French, Spanish, and Armenian fluently.

D'Souza v. Home Depot, 2019 ONSC 2330 and 2019 ONSC 5584 - Saro was successful after a 12-day trial in defending a contractor’s negligence claim and obtained an award for the costs of the action from its inception; the presiding Justice noted that Saro “acted in a highly professional manner […] and conducted the trial efficiently and effectively”;
Ruddell v Gore Mutual Insurance Company, 2019 ONCA328 - David Murray and Saro were successful at the Court of Appeal on a coverage dispute between a statutory third party insurer and the OPCF-44R carrier, where the issue at stake was the scope of an insured’s duty to cooperate;
C.A. v Intact Insurance Company, 2018 CanLII 130861 (ON LAT) - Saro was successful at a LAT hearing and on reconsideration at the LAT in defending a denial of funding for CAT assessments that were found not to be reasonable or necessary;
Saleh v Ambalavanar and Sambasivam, 2018 ONSC 3358 - Saro obtained an order requiring the plaintiff to produce relevant surgical records from over ten years pre-accident and successfully resisted appeal of that order;
Kelly v Grey Condominium Corporation No 22 et al, (15-329SC; McLean, D.J., August 21, 2017) - Saro was successful following a 3-day trial in defending a water damage claim brought against a condominium corporation.
