Saro has acted for insurance companies since being called to the bar in 2013. He has extensive experience in the defence and resolution of personal injury actions, accident benefits claims, property claims, and disputes between insurers. Saro has both trial and appellate experience, and has appeared as counsel at every level of court in Ontario, as well as at the Financial Services Commission (FSCO) and the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT). Saro received his degrees in common law (LL. B.) and civil law (B. C. L.) from McGill University in 2011. He was a TL, a legal information clinic volunteer, and a member of McGill's Laskin moot team winning awards of “Overall Champions” and “Top Factum”.
Saro received his B.A. in 2008 with Great Distinction from McGill University, where he majored in Linguistics and English Literature. Saro speaks English, French, Spanish, and Armenian fluently.

Echelon Insurance v Pafco Insurance Company (Bialkowski, May 15, 2023) - Saro was successful in defending a priority arbitration that hinged on a novel question of law regarding the application of the COVID-related O. Reg. 73/20 Limitation Periods to the 90-day notice requirement in section 3 of O. Reg. 283/95 Disputes Between Insurers.
C.S. v Travelers Insurance, 2023 CanLII 40121 (ON LAT) - Linda Matthews and Saro were successful following a Criterion 8 CAT determination hearing and were also successful on reconsideration of the decision (2023 CanLII 40121 (ON LAT)).
Intact Insurance Company v The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group (Bialkoski, August 17, 2021) - Linda Matthews and Saro were successful following arbitration of a priority dispute involving a complex financial dependency issue. Linda and Saro also successfully resisted the related application for leave to appeal the decision.
A.S. v Intact Insurance Company, 2020 CanLII 57401 (ON LAT) - Saro was successful in contesting the jurisdiction of the LAT to adjudicate a benefits dispute arising from an Alberta motor vehicle accident advanced by an applicant on the basis of Ontario residence.
D'Souza v. Home Depot, 2019 ONSC 2330 and 2019 ONSC 5584 - Saro was successful after a 12-day trial in defending a contractor’s negligence claim and obtained an award for the costs of the action from its inception; the presiding Justice noted that Saro “acted in a highly professional manner […] and conducted the trial efficiently and effectively”.
Ruddell v Gore Mutual Insurance Company, 2019 ONCA328 - David Murray and Saro were successful at the Court of Appeal on a coverage dispute between a statutory third party insurer and the OPCF-44R carrier, where the issue at stake was the scope of an insured’s duty to cooperate.
C.A. v Intact Insurance Company, 2018 CanLII 130861 (ON LAT) - Saro was successful at a LAT hearing and on reconsideration at the LAT in defending a denial of funding for CAT assessments that were found not to be reasonable or necessary.
Saleh v Ambalavanar and Sambasivam, 2018 ONSC 3358 - Saro obtained an order requiring the plaintiff to produce relevant surgical records from over ten years pre-accident and successfully resisted appeal of that order.
Kelly v Grey Condominium Corporation No 22 et al, (15-329SC; McLean, D.J., August 21, 2017) - Saro was successful following a 3-day trial in defending a water damage claim brought against a condominium corporation.
